Guild window

I cant believe that this issue hasn't even been recognized by BW, yet. There are two MAJOR problems that need to be addressed and the majority of the problems that you have listed as current issues are trivial in comparison.

Problem 1: When you try chatting in game, you randomly exit chat.

Problem 2: When doing anything in the guild roster, the guild roster scrolls to the very top every time someone logs in, logs out, and other times it happens randomly without a cause that I can identify. Also, any time you set a character to primary, change a rank, or change a note, it scrolls up to the top as well.

This might not be a big issue to most guilds but I am the Guild Health Officer for the biggest guild on the Shadowlands. A lot of book keeping is involved to maintain the health and prosperity of such a large guild. I was hoping to see something about a fix for this in the patch notes but, like many other issues, it looks like BW is just trying to sweep this under the rug.

This is a MAJOR issue that cannot and will not be ignored.

I haven't heard of this before personally but then Its been a while since I have looked at a guild window

When the swtor server comes back up , have a read of this link  , best is to then /bug and post details in the Bug Report Forum as well to get visibility.

Have not heard about a randomly exiting chat issue , do others get this behavior ? I gather this is just guild chat ? just gathering info as not been raised here before.

There are some local files that can potentially cause chat issues so just want to be sure there isn't a chance it can be just local , I just haven't seen any other reports on this to date is all.

I haven't had the randomly exitting chat issue, but I have noticed the scrolling up. While it isn't exactly gamebreaking (you can still play the game after all), it is still extremely annoying, and I can see where it would be a serious nuisance with a large guild to manage. I don't think they are trying to sweep it under the rug, I'm figuring most people that have encountered it, haven't /bugged it yet, because it does not keep them from playing their game (I'll have to remember to /bug it myself, help on getting the ball rolling). BW cannot fix issues that people haven't reported, it isn't like the sit there and a say "what can we mess up this time to make people's lives miserable?", they don't know it's broken until people tell them, or it wouldn't go live that way.

So /bug report it (and I'll do the same, and anyone else that has had this issue and just let it slide because it was an annoyance and not a hindrance should also /bug report it), and that should get their attention that this is an issue in need of fixing. (and hope this patch doesn't bring something exploitable, those exploits always take the priority, because they truly are gamebreaking).

  • Every one of the officers complain about the same problems. There's about 17 of us. The chat issues are chat box related so it happens regardless of whether we're in /g chat, whispers, /o chat, general, etc.

Honestly, it's stressing our officer core to the point that there has been talk about moving the guild to a different game. We have 431 qualifying accounts. Granted, not everyone will follow us but we would expect at least half of the number. I like SWTOR and would prefer to stay here but, being the guild book keeper, I shouldn't have a issue with the game that stresses to the point, during the weekly member note updates, that I have to log out of the game for the rest of the day.

I'll put a post in the officer forums asking them to comment on this thread so that you know that it's not just me.

If you go can I have your stuff and that from the ~200 other accounts?

seriously, threatening to move to another game never worked as far as I can tell and is rather a sour thing to read.

I get that this is annoying, but as it was said before it is not really game breaking. The bug report option is probably the best way to go about this, especially if half you guild at least would report it. The more report they get, the more likely it would be that they gonna do something about it (at least that would make more sense than threatening to leave the game)

  • LoL. I didn't threaten it. I said that other officers are talking about it but i'd prefer to stay here.

    Let's stay on topic

I've run into the issue as well; the random exiting from chat is rare but definitely there. Trying to edit member notes in a guild hitting over 600 members(characters, not accounts) is damn painful when someone logs in and it resets the entire guild list so we have to scroll all the way back down to the person we were editing and hope we get it done before the next person logs in/out. I know everyone in my guild is limited to 5 characters per person. I don't know the qualifying account number but I know many of our members are one or two in for conquest and running with the guild, so I know we're not just masses of alts given the 600+ characters, yours is not the only 'mega' guild out there with a lot of accounts involved. While we don't have to edit notes often the fact the game closes officer/member notes and resets the guild list for us when people log in/out it gets very annoying very fast. Same with the random exits to chat. The random chat exits do not however delete all text from what was being said if I remember correctly.

The issues are minor however. Also, although I cannot currently access the game because, 308 error on the current patch.

The threats to leave the game for others fall flat. If you think everyone is going to follow based on a few officers that hate the new system not getting fixed right after they make a major change like this, think again. I would expect less than a quarter of the 400~ accounts to follow you out of the game if they even blink over it rather than just assuming control of the guild. If your guild mates/officers decide to hold the guild hostage and not pass it on to a leader that is staying you'll end up with the remainder even less willing to follow you. If you do a mass boot to hold the guild/guild ship well.... expect even fewer to follow you out the door.
