I have recently come back to swtor after a several year Hiatus. however whenever i hit the play button on the launcher, it brings me to the first screen once the game launches and the symbol to the bottom right is completely static and my cursor gets a blue ring next to it, and becomes a blue ring after a while or if i left click, then it says that SWTOR is not responding. this carries on indefinitely

I have done so and all it did was make the bar at the bottom of the screen visible. it is still doing what it was prior just now with the taskbar at the bottom so i can easily switch off from it without pressing the windows key

here is the Client setting file. the native height and width do match my with my monitor resolution
ok there is a possibility your intel video card can not go over medium gfx
Can you make the following changes
GraphicsQuality = 1
and add
TextureQuality = 1
Save and see if any change
Unfortunately that has done nothing. if anything changed i have not been able to notice
