Launcher Issues

login screen says "The Login service is currently unavailable. could be antivirus / firewall interfering 

use the launcher repair utility at this link and put exceptions in the antivirus and firewall for launcher.exe and swtor.exe 

I tried to re-install the game but it doesn't install. When I run the installer it just says "Installation Failed!". I can't even access the launcher now. And I've tried this with the original installer and then a new one I just downloaded.

if you mean the setup file try the below instead

1. create a folder where you want the game installed
2. grab the repair utility from this link and extract the files into that folder
3. make a desktop shortcut for launcher.exe 
4. start the launcher with the shortcut

See if this gets you sorted

I did all those things, and it installed for an hour before saying "Installation of the driver and support components require administration permission acknowledgment. Try invoking the client again. Installer cannot continue. Exiting.". I already created exceptions for swtor.exe and launcher.exe in windows defender and I used the launcher repair utility.

edit: The first download went through, the "required" one. Another update began but when I tried to start the game it exited the launcher and the game did not run. Sometimes it ran as a background process (still not playable) and sometimes it didn't run at all.

Hey man, I really appreciate your help. I'm sorry it doesn't keep working and for wasting your time.

I did that. When I start the launcher it runs only as a background process on my computer and nothing actually pops up.

if you are set to non streaming, take the system to a full clean boot per https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help/929135/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows see if any change 

I did that and then it installed more things for an hour and gave me a network error. My network is running fine and I was actively using other internet things at the same time. Restarting the launcher fixed the issue for a bit but it happened again and this time it just ran as a background process again. Should I just give up? I don't think I'll ever get it to work and actually be able to play the game. I'm pretty sad, truth be told.
