it was a update from the old launcher, i got rid of bitraider years ago, by deleting the folder and editing the old launcher.settings with
"PatchingMode": "{ \"swtor\": \"BR\" }" to "PatchingMode": "{ \"swtor\": \"SSN\" }"
and
"bitraider_disable": false to "bitraider_disable": true
since then i had no issues with the laucher untill now.

try deleting the client_setting file and see if it helps
if it persists try a fresh clean gameinstall , if it persists after that may need to see if any proxy servers exist as caching of the patchmanifest by a proxy server could cause the game to have the wrong game version

There is no "client_setting" file on the "Star Wars-The Old Republic" folder, only
launcher.launcher.metafile.json
launcher.settings
launcher.swtor.metafile.json
on the folder "Star Wars-The Old Republic\swtor" there is a folder named "retailclient" and inside that folder there is a file named "client_defaults.cfg".- proxos6663 years agoHero+
sorry meant launcher.settings
