Login service currently unavailable?

DNS change is good for issues with the CDN as they are footprint servers using GEODNS,

If the issue is confined to Launchpad , manifest or bitraider and the IP address is resolving in the log it will have nil affect

I had the same as others (also in the netherlands). When i use a VPN (set to US) i am able to login

I have same issue with same error message, but seems some other error in log file... ☹️

It seems my happiness was short-lived.

While the solution I gave worked at first, currently it does nothing. The Launcher gives the same error even after the Launcher repair.

I'm guessing if VPN set to US makes it work, then it's some kind of problem with the EU login servers?

Plus if a lot of people have the same problem, then it's clearly problem on their side correct?

Perhaps they triggered something in HQ connected to the KotFE and bad things happened? :D

Routing on the Net it may take up to 12 - 24 hours to correct on the downside depends on table refreshes and where the issue lays

10060 is a winsock socket error basically says timed out , this is likely related to what is going on but this is in relation to reaching

Launchpad.swtor.com , quick test is to open a command prompt as administrator and type

ping Launchpad.swtor.com    and see if it times out or responds

Where do you live ? EU ?

Launchpad.swtor.com is a fixed IP so it has to be a internet routing issue

Mine is like that, as it says - no packages lost. I'm guessing since it's similar to yours that it's not the problem?

Same here using UPC isp also ping Launchpad.swtor.com  is working

You are right if Ping Works then so should the launcher with the login server ......

odd 2 people have the same issue with the socket error , if it is server everyone should have the same issue

Antivirus/Firewall can cause this the socket error is a port block but inability to communicate also causes this

I turned AV and firewall off and it did not help, problem is it actually started yesterday, before everything was working smooth

3 with identical 10060 is too much of a coincidence to say this is a local caused issue ( what are the odds .. )

I cant say now that this is simply a normal routing issue , but a VPN is a good step to try to work around it

Try www.hotspotshield.com and set to the US and see if it comes good.

If the ping works then it has to be at the port level

@proxos666 Tried VPN you've suggested and managed to login, but it would be good to actually be able to do this without VPN, not sure what could be wrong that it works with VPN and not without.

If it works currently with the VPN , there is a high chance that when you get up in the morning it will simply work without the VPN

I suspect a misconfiguration in some sort filtering firewall is occurring somewhere, if the ping failed it would of been a simple BGP route but given it works its not that.

Using VPN worked, and it instantly logged me in to the Launcher.

The things is:

1. I don'twantt to use VPN, I don't trust that kind of programs 

2. untill yesterday evening I had no problems at all.

3. There must be a problem on the SWTOR EU Login server side, if so many people have the problem. (That's my opinion at least)

There is no EU Login Server we all use Launchpad.swtor.com but there is an obvious issue coming from the EU side of the world.

It will correct on its own but when is the question

I have the same problem. Also in the Netherlands. Rebooting computer, and following the steps mentioned above didn't solve the problem.

Just a question to see if this has anything to do with it: everyone who is experiencing this at the moment, are you using Windows 10? And did you do any (automatically) updates before you started experiencing problems?

Oh. Didn't know that.

Perhaps it's the problem with the launchpad.swtor.com itself then?  Shouldn't resetting it resolve the problem? I'm guessing if yes, then it would have to be done by SWTOR team manually?

If yes, then what are the chances they will do that asap?

Don't know about others, but I am running on W10

Same deal as most here, from the Netherlands, provider Ziggo, noticed it first time around midnight local time when I tried to log on again after a short break, gave up after about 30min of trying and went to bed.

Still not fixed this morning, tried several other fixes, which also didn't work, haven't tried the VPN thing yet.

Don't think its actually a login server issue , otherwise all over the world will have the same issue

Given the ping works its not a simple route issue , something else is going on but its only conjecture but some sort of packet inspection is likely interfering somewhere

Edit - this will resolve over time these things always do , just when is unknown.
