This is the same PC it worked on before.

Tried 5 minutes later and it works now.

Actually also no error in server select as I got to my character screen!

Other system not working yet though, will check that out now.

The system that did get through and looking in the GENERAL chat lots of people seem to have this issue.

Looks like it maybe coming good, the VPN mentioned below may help those still having issues if similar to this

The other computer keeps hanging in the launcher screen.

There's the blue circle/loading animation for 5+ minutes now.

The log file shows:

This machine is on the same network as the other PC.

So would tunelling really help me here?

If it is stopping at the same place then likely

Try a modem reboot just in case , the launcher only has to get past the manifest download to continue ok

If clicking this link in a web browser - http://manifest.swtor.com/patch/patcher2014.patchmanifest a small download should occur if it times out its the issue

From the netherlands here,

I was having experiencing the same problem contacted customer support. over phone. and they just told me to try to delete the following folders "Bitraider,movies,assets"

the i managed to finally login. and the game started to install again (NOT DOWNLOAD) just install. even this takes some time..

so when finally done i was able to play the game now this morning i tried to play again and same error -_- so im installing again xD!

but im glad to know its not just me. never had problems with swtor before.. i guess its there new launcher xD!

Deleting the Assets folder is deleting almost the entire game ..... not a step for launcher issues

Edit - Deleting the Bitraider folder is triggering a repair , essentially doing this

Strange thing is, on the machine it currently works on I do not get a download notification for the  http://manifest.swtor.com/patch/patcher2014.patchmanifest link.

On the machine where I couldn't update I DID get a download notification.

Did install the Hotspot shield after that and triggered a reinstall on that PC.

Either the reinstall or Hotspot shield seems to have worked as it is now updating the fresh install to current level.

Will see how that goes.

yea i figuered. but this has to be at there side right? i mean.

Likely a routing issue within EU getting to manifest.swtor.com if getting 208 as earlier seen in some logs

There maybe other things occurring if Pucm got the download notification.

Need to see the launcher logs to work out what is occurring on each login attempt

if the download works then it should be ok , if not manifest then maybe missing something else going on here.

Either way given the nature of the issues using a VPN is a good test for similar issues on the bitraider side of the fence as well.

Yeah, looks intermittent.

Not sure if it's DNS or something else.

I did try the Ziggo DNS and Google DNS and using either I had the issue.
