Advise if the new catalyst driver does anything
from here try deleting the games cache file found at C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\BioWare\Star Wars-The Old Republic\swtor
just delete the file called diskcachearena , it will recreate at the next launch
Still seeing the issue after catalyst driver update. I'll try deleting cache.
I did not experience the issue at all the first day when it was downloading the additional files in the background.
See if the cache makes any difference, also ensure both launcher.exe and swtor.exe are in the exception lists for the firewall and antivirus
I gather you have turned these off and as much as possible any other program running in the background just in case one is interfering ?
another thing to check for a 5 -20 minute halt cycle is heat , so check temps of the CPU etc just to be sure
Thanks for all the help. I think I finally discovered the issue thanks to your comment about the firewall. Essentially, my computer keeps switching to the 5Ghz wireless which it had registered as a public network and SWTOR wasn't marked as excluded from the firewall on public networks.Marking the network as private seems to have cleared up the issue.
