My character is stretched with a 21:9 monitor

I have a problem which i've had for a while now, the problem is that my character in-game is ''stretched'', he is wider than he would be on a 16:9 screen.

I'm using a 21:9 3440x1440p monitor (BenQ EX3501R)

This problem doesn't occur when I play SWTOR on my other monitor (which is 16:9) and I don't have this problem on any other games.

I've tried several things to try fix this issue, but nothing helped.

Here are some notes and what I tried so far:

-the UI does not seem stretched, only the graphics/my character

-tried windowed mode and borderless and alt-enter

-tried the CRU as suggested by other reddit posts (at both 59 and 100hz) and ran restart.exe..

-i use a dp 1.2 (which is recommended).

-tried playing with 2 recent amd drivers, tried super resolution off and on. Tried other settings in the screen options via the amd program (adrenalin it's called?) aswell..

-tried changing res via settings.ini

-tried changing resolution to a 16:9 resolution (made screen stretched even more, no black bars) and changed it back to 3440x1440

-tried re-installing the game, no luck

-for some reason, i can't change the native aspect ratio of my monitor to 16:9, it's stuck on 21:9 (maybe is this the issue that's causing the stretch?)

I want to re-subscribe to this game but this tiny thing is just holding me back from doing it.

Hope someone can help me, thank you.

  • Hi there! I think the issue is that swtor does not support ultrawide, which results in your character appearing stretched. I hope this answers your question.
