  • How close were you to the npcs? I think the swtor engine now slows down the animations at ranges greater than 30-50 meters in order to save resources. I think that may be what you're referring to. A graphics revamp patch was released last summer that changed a lot of rendering distances for objects in game. It caused some problems with some encounters, i.e., platforms in EV, but those issues were fixed recently in another patch. So the low/choppy appearance of the animations of NPCs at a distance may be intentional to increase overall fps/performance. However, the closer you get to the npcs, the animations should become smooth. Let me know if getting closer to the NPCs (<30m) fixed the choppiness.

    No im talking about npc less than 1 m to my character , npc that im engaged in combat with , all their animation is much slower than mine , only the npc that i highlight have normal animation speed , when they die and get unhighlighted they have choppy dying animation as well , please this is breaking the game for me , all questing and flashpoints are broken now , i can link multiple forum thread with people complaining about the same issye
  • hmm, I have experienced some general lagginess/choppiness in the past. Some solutions previously were to delete the "DiskCacheArena" file in the swtor folder (it gets re-created when you launch swtor) or deleting the "Bitraider" folder (it gets re-created when you launch swtor as well, but also initiates a file verification check). It has been a long time since I've had to do either of those, but if you previously played swtor and are a returning player, those solutions may help if you haven't tried them already. Alternatively, though a Much slower process, would be to uninstall swtor then reinstall from a fresh launcher from swtor.com (assuming you have not done that already either). This solution should ensure that all of the files are most up to date and that the launcher is most up to date, from a fresh download, but it will take a while depending on your connection speed.

    This was seen back in September, if this is still occurring can you post the below details for info, and can re-open this if needed.

    Old thread on this here

    If you have the following setting in the client_settings file try deleting it "AmbientNPCCount = 32"

    Hello everyone,

    While this does appear to be affecting many of you and is potentially unrelated to your specific setup, we will still need to gather some data to assist the studio in looking into this further:

    1. Your DxDiag
    2. Your current graphic settings, available in your client_settins.ini file, by default located here: %localappdata%\swtor\swtor\settings

    Cheers,

    Nils

    @flashinspark

    Looking at the dxdiag you are on Windows Th1, if you do update to Th2 there is an issue at present that causes BSOD ingame, so if you do theis update put grass to 0 until fixed, this will stop the known crashing.

    now I cant see the bios version but can see the EC is outdated not sure if you want to muck around updating this. (not related to this issue)

    looking at the NVidia driver the latest is here

    moving down to the client_settings file , delete the following lines to see if any impact

    DYDDrawDistancePreset = 2 and AmbientNPCCount = 35

    Now in game have you played with any settings ? see if turning AA off altogether has any affect and if any change between fullscreen mode and fullscreen window mode.

    once seeing if any change at all can proceed from there
