Randomly getting a blank screen followed by a short loading screen.

When playing on my PC my game randomly gets a blank screen (black or grey) followed my a short loading screen before Im able to see whats going on again.

Happens more frequently in PvP.

Its like 5-7seconds where I cannot see what my char is doing and kinda frustrating.

Anyone else having this issue?

My PC is a i7 4770k with 970 GTX and 16gb ram. On my laptop I have never experienced this problem. Also all other games works fine on my PC.

Place the NVidia driver in debug mode and see if it persists, here shows how to place in debug mode

Debug mode basically lowers the card back to NVidia Stock Reference Speeds ( ie removes overclock done by manufacturer from design reference )

Thanks for your answer. But is this really something I need to do in order to play this game without this annoying bug? Nothing Bioware tries to solve?

Seems kinda weird if I need to "reduce" my GPU's power in order to play this game without bugs :S

Have also tried running both windowed and fullscreen but problem still there. The loading screen that occurs feels about the same when you tab out and in into the game.

The last time I saw evidence of a grey screen issue was with EVGA cards , problem was the overclock and EVGA ended up releasing a firmware to lower to core clock by 25MHz and also increasing voltage.

The answer to seeing if it is similar is to place the cards clock rates at what it was designed to be run at , manufactures overclock too much on occasion and instability occurs.

Give it a try place the card at reference speeds and see what occurs

That blank/Grey screen is in reality the video driver resetting not the game

Another possibility is you have this issue here in which case try the driver just released or revert the driver to check

I turned on Debug Mode and the 2 last sessions I have been playing I havent got this issue a single time *fingers crossed*. Hope this will persist and that I dare to upgrade my GPU to the latest drivers and continue using Debug Mode when playing SWTOR, although I would rather use my GPU at its fully potential.

Do you know if nVidia / Bioware are working on a solution to this proxos666?

Anyway I'm really thankful for your fast answers and good advice. Wish there were more like you out there.

    Happy new year.

Glad to hear you can play a lot better now

If Debug mode is helping then it is an issue between the Card manufacturer and Nvidia , Debug mode puts the card at reference clock speeds , so the issue appears to lay in the overclock.

    Hope this helps.
