Re: loading screen goes up to 90% and stops

@TheSkiv

Whist I am not 100% certain your link is the best it can be at present.

Going over things and the fact your tracert is showing classic firewall restrictions.

Normally when like this the router/modem needs to allow ICMP Time to Live Exceeded packets

The reason the last hop responds is it does with an echo-reply message and not a TTL exceeded.

Can you confirm these ports are open on your router/modem firewall ?

no, I cannot confirm that. I can't access my router. Either way, the connection is not the problem here! How can it be? Firewall may be the problem, but not anything to do with router/modem/ internet. I've told you, a friend played the game from the same connection point. Meaning the ports are not the problem either.

There has to be some other problem here.

So you cant access the router/modem

Have you tried playing both wireless and wired to the modem ?

If you open a command prompt as administrator and type again

    ping -t 64.233.184.147

leave this running and fire up the game launcher and try to play (yes I know it will get to 90%) , is there any significant change to the pings appearing ?

if there isn't will follow a different line of testing

I cant connect to the modem directly. Same goes for the router. Its just some round thingy with a single wire coming out of it. I need a technician to operate it. -_- Our house is a special case since we live out of town, away from the regular ISP zones.

    Ok tracking

Can you run that test with the ping when the game is at the 90% load

Just want to check what the connection is doing at that point

    can move on from there

So I started pinging right before pressing PLAY in character selection screen. It got to 90% on ping 10-11, i waited another several seconds. Doesn't seam like there is any problem here, I think.

    Yes it looks fine

Whilst you have the command prompt open

    type

    sfc /scannow

see if it finds errors while I think on what is best moving forward with this for you

I have to get going shortly (11pm here) and have to get up at 5:30am

Now that DISM has been run check for all windows updates and update windows

there is a high chance windows update was broken prior to DISM running.

ok, so i ran it again and it fixed some corrupt files successfully. Afterwards i restarted my pc and checked for updates, none were found. Now running the sfc again to make sure it will simply run successfully without finding any corruptions. Gonna check the game afterwards again.

So! Any more ideas on what I can do?

I've read online and apparently my problem is similar to some people. Apparently the character is in a stronghold of some sort and its a known issue for low level characters that its stuck after character select. Mine is however never been in game yet! ☹️

I really want to fix this annoying bug! Gotta understand where its coming from!

EHm! This is stupid. I looked up one of the possible solutions: Changing the decimal symbol to be . instead of , and the digit splitting symbol to be , instead of .

That actually helped.... What a bloody lame and disappointing fix.

@proxos666 thanks for your help. I appreciate that you've tried. 🙂

I am aware of that issue, have actually posted about it on here 🤭

I actually didn't suggest it as it normally affects before the character screen

Glad you read about that then.....

upside you got some component corruption fixed in windows
