Re: Subscription Fails

I have had several lengthy conversations with Swtor customer support and  it appears that the problems people are having with Subscription,Cartel Coin purchases is something unable to me worked around my older methods. Using different browser, clearing cookies and cache, waiting for a 24hr period with regard to payment failures, ensuring no VPN being used etc etc etc.

They told me a specialist team is working on it so hope there is a fix. After 8 years of being subbed I would sooner not play as preferred status with the restrictions. The bad news is that I have been contacted, and have had many conversations with people, who are facing the same problems as at least 100 or so players.

  • I have been trying to change the CC for the recurring sub for about a week and getting "the error, try again later" and now my sub has run out so I can't even post on the SWTOR forums.

It is infuriating that this type of bug keeps reoccurring after so many years.

You would expect for them to be on top of bugs that effect them getting money.

  • @Rick17126 Yeah same I here am still waiting on Swtor team to get back to me as they said as soon as they know what's going on they will email me. When I here from them I will post here.

This has been a reoccurring problem for over 6 years but it's the first time I have dealt with it myself.

  • Finally able to  Re Subscribe after two weeks and now I am waiting for my Subscription to activate. Not sure what is going on with this game anymore it may be time to put down my Lightsabers and blasters.

  • Allow me to get this straight!

    You could subscribe?

I still have the maintance issue on sub page, and cant enter my code to use my 60 day sub since the EA billing is still blocking it.

Did they fix it for you now? Since you seem to be the one who got acsess to it.

  • @ariagmail Yes I was able to Subscribe without the maintenance popup or Ea billing unavailable etc etc.

But am still waiting for my Sub to activate.

I paid with PayPal so that may take longer and it's been nearly 11 hours so far.

Mind you I called Swtor Customer Support 3 times before anything changed in the last two weeks and spoke to EA five or six times.

Swtor were meant to email me when the problem was fixed but never did.

  • Sweet, would like some info, what did you say to the swtor customer support?

2nd how did you contact/reach EA?

  • @ariagmail Yeah I contacted Swtor Customer Support via phone as listed on Ea help page.

As I live in Australia this was not an ideal process due to Cost and Time zone.

I explained to them the situation affecting myself and many others in various Ea,swtor forum,Reddit threads.

I finally was able to access the subscription screen and add/change payment method but still have experienced a problem with PayPal payment not going through on the swtor end of things. I have paid using a credit card, which was successful, but the PayPal payment went through on my bank and PayPal accounts but does not appear on my Ea/swtor billing history.

So I have been charged twice ,once via PayPal which Swtor denies they received on thier end,and once via Credit card each with different invoice numbers.

All I can assume,as agreed with by the PayPal representative ,is that thier are problems with Ea/swtor billing all of which have existed ,ongoing  off and on,for many years.

The amount of hassle it has caused and Time taken to sort this mess out I feel the next time it may happen I will cease supporting the game.

I now have had to open a dispute through PayPal which is not desirable. I would suggest each case is different but I know many players are still having trouble subbing/purchasing CC.

    Wish I had better news.
