Re: SWTOR - not receiving 'One-Time Password' to access my account

Thank you!!!

I chatted to a very helpful person at EA who advised me of the 'alternate email address (that I forgot I created) and had amended it to.

"Don't do things late at night after a very long gaming session and not write that stuff down!" That's my advice to anyone contemplating such a thing.

Oh and I used Skype, amended my country to the USA and used the number provided in the solution (after the +1) 

Am now just waiting for the game files to update... 20GB or so to go...

The staff member signed off the phone conversation with "may the force be with you", so cool it gave me goose bumps 🙂

  • I have the same issue right now, I don't know how it started, I was login in just recently and recently as in last week. Now I cant login, for some reason I did not received any one time password, I cant remember how many attempts I made already, and by the way I also tried changing my origin email and it did not work. So now I'm only waiting for the phone line to open as its the holiday and when I phone in they said that they are not open, which is kinda sad.
  • My issue is that i cant get to the page to send me a OTP. Ive upgraded phones and need to take off my SK so that i can put it on my new phone. My other phone broke so i cant get it that way. Please help

    @SuccMyDingus420 If you're not receiving the One Time Passwords for removing your Security Key, they might be getting sent to a different email address. If you've checked any other email addresses you have and you're still not receiving them, you can give us a call so we can help.

  • Its not that its not sending me the one time code its that the page that you use to send the OTP wont come up.

    Every time I click "Lost your security key" it takes me to this page and i dont get the option to send the OTP.

  • Nope, Just has a link that says "Contact customer service" which takes me to the same screen.

    Very odd , just to 100% certain, you are definitely not using the launcher when you enter your username and password and leave the key field blank? that screen is expected if the launcher is used instead of a web browser directly to www.swtor.com

    What web browser are you using ?

    Can you try edge or similar web browser and just go to www.swtor.com and try again very odd

    @proxos666 Didn't realise the old links were still an issue on the Launcher! I'll get that looked into.

    Hey thanks for the reply, mine is already working. 

    I did not even contacted the phone service, as I mention, they were closed during the holidays. I'm not sure if it was a glitched in their system or what but I finally started getting an email from SWTOR on January 3. 

  • I just tried It through swtor.com with microsoft edge as well and still i get this screen with no option to send it.

    Having the same problem, and once I did receive a one time password - it said it was incorrect. Not going to alt emails, nor spam.

    @SuccMyDingus420 @Delusion360 If you call in we'll be able to get you logged in. While on the call I'd recommend using the opportunity to attach a Security Key as well (often requires an extra OTP).

    i'm stucked here from like an hour to try to accede my account to renew the bills -.- c'mon after years this part is a total disappoint. OTP never came, tried 3 times to change the password and validate it, i don't really know what to do now, The OTP from the launcher came instantly.

    Support is available 7 days a week during the designated times, and can assist getting you back into your account on the day you call.

    Not receiving "One-Time Password". Oh, yes I know, answer here, and there, and on the EA help site, and on Forums and everywhere? No, not receiving! I am not going to call the support, because if I do call the support every time from my Country if there is some problem, my phone bill would be with six zero's! So, the thing was working for 3 years perfectly, and now, as a cherry on top of everything, new Conquest not working properly, "Introduction to conquest" quest, won't reward at all... And a lot of other stuff, for which I really do not care, but now, I wanted to renew my subscription, and I cannot log in, because the Bot, will not send the One Time Password? Please fix this, or just remove it from my account, I really do not care for "so much" security, it's not the Fort Nox 🙂

    There is an existing thread about the issue here.  The last update we got is that the issue should be resolved as per here.
