Some have found they have needed to install directx 9 legacy files https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=35
otherwise try installing C++ via https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x64.exe , all else fails install the game via steam

Confirm the diectx link was the one above, swtor support did offer a link ending in 8109 which needed to be manually installed after download.

Thank you for replying. Unfortunately I still never got any of the manual downloads to work for me but I did end up uninstalling everything and reinstalling the game on steam myself a couple days later and I was surprised but the game was able to load up on there. It kind of seems like the game runs better on steam than what I remember too but maybe it's something to do with the updates since I last played. Anyway just happy I figured out someway to play the game. I appreciate you taking the time to respond!

I unfortunately am having a similar problem following the 7.3.1 update, but arguably much worse. When I tried playing after the update, Norton Antivirus informed me that the game did not have a valid 'digital signature', mentioning specifically 'swtor.exe'. I have tried every method suggested from the links proxos provided (excluding C++, but given the problem, I don't have high hopes). Directx was already installed and up-to-date, and un- and reinstalling the game did nothing. I even tried this through Steam and the problem has persisted. If there are any other suggestions, I will gladly try them.
