Re: unable to load application configuration

Reinstall the game and then try to load the game.  If the error comes back make sure swtor.exe and launcher.exe are added to your anti-virus / firewall safe / exceptions list in case they are blocking or deleting files.

After that if its still occurring use the repair utility found here:

What happens when you go to swtor.com and try to download and reinstall the game?  Does it give a specific error?

Try under a clean boot per here if using bitraider , leave all the bitraider services enabled

what antivirus are you using ? ensure the game shortcut is running as administrator and launcher.exe and swtor.exe are in all the exception lists

Create another windows administrator account to test with and see if it launches ok ( this will help narrow down hopefully what is occurring )

Open a command prompt as administrator if windows key + r doesn't allow it to run , press windows key type cmd , should see command prompt listed , right mouse click on it and click on run as administrator.

    1) Windows key + R type cmd (push enter)
    2) type on the CMD window: "netsh winsock reset catalog" and press enter.
    3) after done, type: "netsh int ip reset reset.log" and press enter.
    4) reboot computer.
