Scratching noise from speakers

So... I've been looking around for answers to this specific problem for about three months now. Only happens on SWTOR, can run other games fine...

Please don't ask me to check the speakers as my computer is a laptop (unless there is someway to do that?! ).

I would be happy to provide any and all data that might be useful.

Thank you for your time.

Cant see anything obvious in the dxdiag , apart from there is a newer bios A10 available and yours is A07, have you monitored temps at all , heat may contribute to symptoms like static as well

What other things have tried out to date ?

Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\BioWare\Star Wars-The Old Republic\swtor   with the game closed and delete the file called diskcachearena  (just that file) a new one will be auto created on next launch

have you tried adjusting the sound side of things, for IDT 92HD sound go into its properties and then the advanced tab see if adjusting to say studio level has any affect on this.

  • Sure!

It consistently happens during conversations, (though all animation moves normally) and sporadically in the background.

  • Sorry I didn't respond sooner.

Adjusting the sound helped a bit, more then I expected.

Did NOT know that heat would create static, but it turns out that it is in fact, the heat (the temp goes to (at max) 90 F when playing).

Thanks for the help. REALLY appreciate it.
