Screen Resolution Stretch

Hello all,

I am having trouble with fullscreen (windowed) mode.  It's another one of those resolution stretching issues and I was not able to find the answer I was looking for in the dozens of old threads. I am currently able to get the game working properly at a lower resolution that I desire by altering settings in my Nvidia Control Panel, but am forced to do it every time I log in.  Specifically, the "No scaling" setting of the "Adjust Desktop Size and Position" tab  switches to "Full-screen" no matter what I change.  It overrides the "override the scaling mode set by game and programs" ticked box.  Changing my client settings file, reinstalling video drivers and adjusting my desktop resolution did not work.  The game always stretches to the size of my monitor unless I alt+tab out and change back the setting to "No scaling".  I have never encountered this problem with any other game.

  • Those were definitely some of the things I had come across.  Unfortunately, the best solution for me is to probably let this one go.  Appreciate the advice, but I realized could have done my quick fix 1,542+ times already.  Spending hours looking for a permanent fix to something that only takes seven seconds or so to change once every login is no longer worth it.

    Thanks again,

    Newbie M

One thing that maybe a quick fix , but again this is dependant on setup

Say for example you are connecting by HDMI at present changing to DVI the issue may go away ..

This is possible not saying it will in yur case but generally as this is a different part of the table , the error may not exist.

  • That particular error is Owens ( @proxos666 ) specialty; for the life of me I have never been able to retain that fix; he was floating around a few minutes ago.

  • @hopemaku

SWTOR for some reason reads the EDID - See Here

Two initial thoughts , without knowing your setup

    try this

    Click Start
    Control Panel
    hardware and sound
    device manager
go to monitor and right mouse click on update driver software
    select browse my computer
    pick from list
    untick show compatible hardware
select standard monitor types then select digital flat panel (Pick your max resolution here) (if you have a lcd that is)

or try using the Custom Resolution Utility to deselect unsupported aspect resolutions for your monitor
