Serious companion bug, been around for at lest a year and never fixed.

So, when Onslaught came out there was/is a bug that caused you to not get Jakarro if you had an active chapter from the KOTFE/ET content.  There was a supposed work around by replaying a KOTFE chapter but it did not work for me.   Even more so, when on Onderon I was unable to summon ANY companion because of this.  Back then I was a subscriber and had three different tickets on it and all were immdiately closed after a quick reply to do that stupid work around that never worked.   So I let that character sit unplayed for quite some time until recently.

So, now I managed my way through onderon without a cmpanion until I got to the last mission.  Suddenly I had access to all my companions except Jakarro.  Since I hadn't completed Onderon yet he wasn't added to my roster.  I was able to complete the final mission on Onderon with a companion.  Finished the planet and got  the Jakarro classic skin, but Jakarro wasn't not added to my roster.  Anyway, I moved on to teh next planet.

Now I am on Corellia doing the solo Objective Meridian flashpoint of which I am supposed to have Tau and Arn with me.  However, now Arn isn't there and again I cannot summon any companion.  Tau is there, but she isn't my companion in teh sense that she can act as a healer for me.  When I leave the instance I can summon companiosn at will (but stil no Jakarro) but back in teh instance I cannot summon them and the one that is supposed to be provided is not there.

I have posted this bug a few time on the forum as well (at leats as far as Jakarro and onderon was concerned) on the SWTOR forums with little help but not it appears that the issue will show up with all story provided characters like this.  And seeing as I am not currently a subscriber there is very little available to me for any real help.  This is a really terrible bug and makes playing these story parts nearly impossible without outside help.

Also, it would really help if the search function on this forum would stop autocorrecting my searches into something else other than what I specifically type in.

I hope someone that can actually do something see this becaus eI think it's unfair us non subscribers are treated like lower class citizens despite having been subscribed for many, many months in the past.

This is only affecting one particular character of mine.  All my other characters are fine.\

UPDATE: This has been resolved for me by SWTOR.

  • Oh, forgot I posted about it here.  They got around to fixing it for me.  I honestly think it was a bloody miracle and it took long enough but it's done, so no complaints.

The only thing I can recommend would be to email support@swtor.com since you are no longer a subscriber.  Not sure if it something that would require a direct fix to that one character or something that requires a patch but I would see if that avenue can resolve the issue for you.
