Strange screen and sound issue.

While I'm playing the game with shadows on low or high, no other settings make any difference, my screen will go a blank color, sometimes grey, black, brown, red, doesn't really matter.  I'll then see the loading screen for a second and the game will come back on, but my sound output changes usually to my monitors output which is connected with HDMI.  If I'm using my monitors speakers, another duplicate will be created in my sound options and will switch to that which I can then switch to in order to have sound output.  The game will continue to go blank in random situations.  It continues to do this.  If I turn shadows off, it doesn't do it anymore.  I don't have any issues with any other games.  I've tried using a DVI cable instead of HDMI.  I've updated my graphics drivers.  It was doing it before the expansion and does it after.  My brother's game does the same thing.  He has a GTX970 as well as me, but no other hardware is the same.

Intel 4690s, Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX970, 16GB DDR1600 RAM, Windows 10 latest updates, Nvidia driver 376.19

Oh, I've also monitored my video card health status.  Temperatures don't surpass 50c.

Can you post a dxdiag per this link

Is this a multi monitor setup ?

As an initial test can you put the video card into debug mode as per this link and see if it persists

The problem was lessened with the 376.19 driver, but still happened.

I now have the 376.33 driver and will play with it a bit when I have time.  I'll also try the debug option and post back here when I feel I've tested thoroughly.

Maybe worth using DDU (link) and do a complete clean install of the video driver

See in the bottom of the dxdiag the below bit I have pasted , this is normally listed as a video hardware issue, however it can be driver related.

If you press the windows key and type reliability , select "view reliability history" and you should see this 117 BCCode listed

    Problem signature:

    P1: 117

    P2: ffffa004447b9010

    P3: fffff80570f0d87c

    P4: 0

    P5: 3d4

    P6: 10_0_14393

    P7: 0_0

    P8: 256_1

    P9:

    P10:

I guess one other thing you can do to test with is borrow your brothers video card and see if still occurs, this is a quick way to narrow down very quickly

although you say his is the same does it have the same error ?

With the 376.33 driver I had a crash in about 2 hours of play.  I turned on the debug mode and had another crash in about 2 hours of play.  I ran DDU and reinstalled the driver and didn't crash in about 4 more hours of play.

I'll consider it a driver issue and hopefully it's better now.

EDIT:  Sorry, not a crash, but my strange issue posted above.
