Stuck on loading screen

I am reporting the same issue as others players have (2 for on here). SWTOR is installed on steam. Laucnher starts fine and I'm able to log in. When the game opens I'm stuck on the loading screen indefinitely.

Here are the things I have tried: Checking firewall / Updating graphics / Alt + Enter / Windows + R key to acess local data settings and then changing the ''client_settings.ini'' file data or deleting it / Installing or Reinstalling DirectX / Restarting computer / Reinstalling the game / Checking game files through steam / Deleting files to force a file correction on steam / Running in administrator /  Verifying Compatibility settings in task manager / Tested connection with wifi-hotspot from my phone assuming my new wifi could be the issue.

Nothing has worked.

I tried installing the launcher from the SWTOR website directly, but when I do an error prompt appears stating ''Download failed to contact the alias service. Timeout on I/O".

In accordance with proxos666 advice in another thread, I have oppened a command prompt and proceeded with a systems file check. Some corrupted files were fixed. I than ran a clean boot. The same issue persist.

The last time I was able to log in that I am certain of was on January 5th at 00h22 AM as per my most recent screenrecording of the game. To my best recollection I have not tried to log in until then.

The only thing that has caught my eye is that when the launcher is ready to start, next to the play button the patch notes are "Patch notes: Game update 7.7c". I can see that game update 7.7d was released on the 17th. The game is uptodate on steam and no updates are available.

I'm at a loss of what to do. I will add my DxDiag below if it helps. I really wish for this to be fixed.

Thanks to all who try to help!

  • Update! Me and my friend tried using a VPN... and it worked! So it seems to be the wifi / ISP that's causing a blocage somewhere.

  • Yours shows Bccodes 141 and 144 both of which could be hardware issues (google each bccode),

but need to try and find if its another cause, 3rd party overlays can also cause issue with swtor for example on launch

try a clean boot per this guide as well and see if any change

Just to add the intel video card is still listed as active in the dxdiag, that can be disabled in the bios

and whilst troubleshooting i would try going back to one monitor and test each individually with swtor just to be sure, swtor can get into issues with multi monitors

  • First of all thank you for the answer.

As per your responses in other posts, I have done a clean boot earlier and nothing changed. I find the problem weird since only swtor bugs, all my other games work fine.

I tried searching for the errors. As you mention it seems to be the graphics card of the hardware. To fix the 144 error, I have checked driver updates and widows updates and both are okay.

I had alot of old junk on my computer, and thus deceided to do a factory reset. I'd been thinking about it for a while and decided that this could be a good time.

The reset has just finished. I installed the most fresh update for everything (drivers, graphics, BIOS) and downloaded swtor right after chrome and discord.

Nothing changed. The game is still stuck on the loading screen indefinately.

I have absolutely no idea what to do, I am at a loss.

I'll add my most recent dxdiag below.

  • also check for the Killer Analytics Service and Killer Network Service from "Rivet Networks" these have cause stuck at loading screen per this post

  • Both are unchecked and, sadly, the game is still stuck on the loading screen.

Me and my friend deceided to do a test yesterday. When I try to install the game / launcher from the SWTOR website the "Download failed to contact the alias service. Timeout on I/O" error happens. He tried on his computer and the same error happened. He did not try and launch the game after downloading it from steam though. His computeris far more recent than mine.

We're starting to believe that the internet service being provided at my appartment complex might be the issue. We moved in the 14th of June and the official internet service provider (Bell) has not activated their permanent service yet. Thus, a temporary Wifi has been provided to us until the main one comes online.

We assume some firewall / blocage might be happening on the temporary wifi's side that stopping the game from loading? I don't even know if that's something that's possible, but I've literraly tried everything at this point and still the game won't load.

I think I'll wait and try again when the permanent service is established. See if that's the problem.

    Thanks for your answer!

Try using google DNS servers, that is what another person found recently, if you happen to be in the same region could also be this too, or not :)
