subdomain emails

It seems that EA or SWTOR system cannot deal with subdomains?  I tried using my normal email address (which I use everywhere else) similar to [edit: email address removed] and try to confirm it in the SWTOR account I never get an email and it never continues through the process.  If I use my work email, which is just @domain.com it works.

Does the EA/SWTOR system have a limitation on this for some reason?

You're indeed correct, it doesn't look like the system supports subdomains (or plus-addressing for that matter). Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to tell you why, that was probably a decision made close to 10 years ago when the account system was first created 🤔

I have flagged your post with CS for a response, unsure if they will pick this up today as most have finished for the day but they will see this in the morning their time (GMT +0) worst case.

Uh, any chance this can be brought up and see about a change?  There are quite a few places where the system will not work for users worldwide, such as those countries that have a domain extension for their domains, such as Canada (only one example).  I.e. domain.com.ca.

It is kinda silly to not have that support in this day and age.

Stop me if I'm wrong, but I thought Canada's domain is .CA? In any case, our system does support double-barrel domain extensions like hotmail.co.uk, it's the sub-domain email addresses it doesn't like.

I can certainly bring it up, but I'll be frank, I don't expect it to change any time soon. This is the first time I've even seen it being mentioned in my six years on the game.

yes of course it is .ca (*one* example).  but lets switch to a more likely relevant example as it seems necessary to explain, .jp.  so that leads to, for instance and as your pointed out, [edit: email address removed].  if that is supported, why is [edit: email address removed] not supported (mine happens to be like that)?

yes, please run it up the flagpole!

urg, first email address example that was removed by forum software:  username @ subdomain.co.jp.

second email address example that was removed by forum software: username @ subdomain.us.com.

@HammerRLG Thanks again! These examples should probably be enough.

In the meantime, have you used an alternate email to get yourself up and running?

@EA_Kipling yes, I am using my work email although not quite appropriate.  I can get away with it for a bit though.  thx!
