Support level is worse I ever encounter.

My Problem

I tried to link my Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWTOR, an online game) account to my Electronic Arts (EA, the company that owns the game) account using my updated email. I also wanted to change my SWTOR account name to something new. On the SWTOR site, it showed this error message:

text

EA Account Email: ******@disabled.ea.com As your SWTOR account was created prior to mid 2019, it has been linked to an EA account that you can log into. Your EA account is associated with the above obfuscated email address, which may be different from your SWTOR email address. Link Status: Error In order to make purchases on the website, you must have an active EA account linked to your SWTOR accounts. Please view the “How to reactivate an inactive EA account” page to fix your account or contact SWTOR Customer Support.

I needed them to unlink the old disabled account and link the correct one, since both use the same email now.

How Agents Messed Up

Most agents did not get my problem. They asked questions that had nothing to do with it, ignored my details, and kept making me repeat things. Here is what went wrong with each:

  • Jeshua Miguel: Said no visibility of my description, asked to repeat, threatened to end chat over my frustration, closed without help.
  • Roie Christian: Asked for name and email again, said details missing, asked to elaborate after I said I did, closed after I updated description without answering.
  • Varun (first): Saw it was linking, asked for platform, sent code, but redirected to SWTOR link that goes back to EA.
  • Mamta: Could not see previous chat, asked for issue, disconnected for "idle" even when I responded.
  • Varun (second): Greeted, then disconnected.
  • Jeshua Miguel (second): Asked for name and issue again, disconnected.
  • Jitesh: Checked conversation, asked what I want, disconnected for idle.
  • Prince: Asked for email and access, asked if new platform (not), disconnected.
  • Vikas (second): Thought it was changing EA ID (wrong), asked for error screenshot (no error), redirected to SWTOR, said no disabled account (there is), asked Steam nickname (unrelated).
  • John Angelo: Thought only name change, redirected to SWTOR in-game ticket, but that points back to EA.
  • Akash: Thought changing email (wrong), transferred to team.
  • Avinash: After transfer, asked to elaborate, checked, asked short explain, disconnected.
  • Vikas (third): Sent code, asked where bought Star Wars (not relevant), asked Xbox tag (wrong), confused with Battlefront, said SWTOR not on account, said can't relink per policy.

They kept redirecting to SWTOR support, but SWTOR site says: "All Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ support is now located at EA Help. Please visit help.ea.com for assistance." So it is their job, but they avoid it.

What Happened Overall

This wasted hours of my time with loops and disconnects. Agents need better training, and the system is broken.

I want them to fix the link by unlinking disabled.ea.com and connecting the correct one.

Has anyone had this issue? How did you fix it?

How else can i send complain to EA staff ? This is ridiculous level of help.

  • Swtor account linkage is permanent and unable to be changed , nor is the displayname on the account able to be changed

Easiest way is to call swtor support when the lines are open and update the email on the linked ea account to restore access to that swtor account

Linked accounts can have different emails and passwords as detailed at this link

EA support will not be able to see or find the EA account linked to your swtor account as it has been disabled, they also cant see your swtor account (swtor is a separate support line)

trying to merge EA accounts can result in the swtor account being completely broken as this is similar to deleting the linked EA account

Ridiculous level of bad architecture decisions and implementation failure.

I suppose mainly because of really bad management and very incompetent product owners.

Feels like going back to 2000's in system design...
