Not aware of any issue like this with avast
issue like what you have can be a net routing issue , hence trying a totally different internet connection is worthwhile to try and check
a mismatch in compat modes between launcher.exe and swtor.exe can result in no server list , however it appears you have a server list , just cant access a server ( i presume you tried them all )
a port block may also cause this issue but that is usually ISP dependent
more inclined to check with another internet connection as next best thing to check with
I been hopelessly launching and then exiting game and after who knows how many times it just works now with no issues.
I'm now convinced this was weird game bug.
