So I've been updating SWTOR for a whole day now, the download isn't taking long, but installing is. This has never happened before. Usually, it takes one hour max. I'm using the new launcher if that helps. I'd like to know why it's taking that long. A whole day, and it's still at 80%
EDIT: The game was up to date until the last update.
I know this is an old post, but I didn't see the solution that worked for me listed anywhere near the top of any search results for this issue. I was having the same problems, incredibly slow download speeds. I tried all the suggestions of editing the launcher.settings file, but none of those worked for me. What I finally found was this utility (official EA guide link) that repairs the launcher. After placing the .EXE in my SWTOR install folder and running it, I'm downloading at full bandwidth. Hope this helps someone.
EA QV Team@Mortar198 If you're talking about download progress, updating or fixing the launcher should not affect that. Usually the only thing that resets download or installation progress is modifying/deleting .VERSION files or tampering with the assets and BitRaider folder.
