(SWTOR) Star wars the old republic Crashing on Launch

Hey all, im having an issue that seems to happen to others frequently online but a solution has yet to be found.

When I press the "Play" button in the SWTOR launcher the game briefly launches to the main loading screen before crashing completely. This has been happening for several months across multiple clients. Here are the steps ive tried:

-Deleted client_settings file

-Configured client_settings file to 1920, 60hz, etc.

-Redownloaded on website official client

-Redownloaded on Steam client

-Repaired steam client and launcher (Launcher repair not available)

-Added exception in windows firewall

-Made sure not running in compatibility mode.

The only difference a troubleshooting effort made was when I redownloaded the DX9 file here: https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x64.exe

made it work for a short while before the issue started happening again and now it does nothing.

The issue seems to come back randomly but I would assume it would be when a patch rolls around.
