Unable to launch SWTOR - from steam or launcher

So, after the latest update to SWTOR delivered by Steam I am unable to launch the game.

I have verified my files through Steam and no problems reported.

I have run the swtor diagnostic file from the swtor file location and it reports no issues.

I have run the swtor repair file and it reports that it cannot repair the launcher it says:

The install wizard is unable to complete the repair of Star Wars: The Old Republic due to the following problem:

Status: Repairing

Error: Failed to update the catalog > read operation > JSON error

How do I repair the JSON error so that the install wizard can repair the launcher?

    so - problem solved.

    Navigated to the file location and deleted the two metafile.json files that were created during the latest patch. Then ran the swtor launcher and it has verified the files from the latest patch and repaired itself and loaded the launcher.exe application as required.
