Unable to reset password on very old account

I recently was invited by some friends to play SWTOR again, I tried accessing my old account but when I try resetting the password it always "fails to update". I tried creating a new account when I gave up but this is also tied to my account.

The last time I logged into this account was many years ago so I am wondering if the account is bugged in some way?
