With the power of mods, gear is not as meaningful. I like this because mods seem easy for everyone to get. Gear will still help but not as much. Of course now we have to see how much of an effect mods have. They can easily trump gear from what I can see but time will tell.
I just plan to triple up health mods on all arena characters so with the five minute time limit no one can win. A team of five healers with 45% extra health all. With the ability of Ewoke elder and old daka to revive, no one will be able to beat the arena team. Each person will just keep healing the rest.
