A Call for a Truce
Now I know I'm going to get burned at a stake for this, or more likely tar and feathered, but I feel this may benefit some people in some way or another, and if it doesn't, well I had time on my hands so I don't really lose anything.
I've enjoyed this game off and on through the years. I joined right around the time BAM was released, and after grinding for him a lot, I got bored with the game and left. You can imagine my joy when I returned a few months back and found a free BAM sitting waiting for me a few months out. I took this as a definite turn for the better.
When I contemplated what I thought about the light speed tokens journey quests, my first inkling was of jealousy or frustration that I was finally going to upgrade characters I loved, but that other players would basically have the same account as me (being a lower gp myself) for a while until I could branch out in my own direction. But with some reflection, I realized that this standpoint was completely selfish (obviously) and I have now decided that overall, the addition of journey quests are of an overwhelming benefit to the enjoyment of the game.
This is but a small example of the petty arguments and complaints that this community constantly brings to the table. I have posted my fair share, but have been trying to find the positives throughout the negatives.
Overall, this community is, to use the oversaturated word mostly used my millennial women, toxic. (For lack of a better one.) There are a fair few members of this website that constantly comment on "how bad tw is" and how their coliseum isn't going their way and so on. I find this annoying, and frankly, extremely petty.
As the following statement might sound antagonistic, please cover your easily offended friends ears.
"Oh no my digital phone screen moving interactive picture game didn't give me as many prizes as I wanted. I should go into my digital phone screen text box website and complain for an hour about how unfair life is."
This is obviously an exaggeration of most cases. (Notice I said most) But all in all is a fair summary of most of the complaints about this game. To name a few: 1. TW is stupid and boring and needs an update. Okay, join a guild that doesn't require participation, and just accept that there are plenty of other game modes you can play to pass the time of your surprisingly empty lives. 2. GAC matchmaking is bad. Okay, make the most of the good matches you get, and accept that you don't always get matched with a similar gp, in a randomized matchmaking system. 3. Coliseum isn't friendly to f2p players, and is rigged. This is the only one that might hold water, but I will say that as a f2p player who joined halfway through the era, I still manage to get enough era tokens to buy a few lst's, and I could have gotten the first few kyber lst's from Cassian, but I chose not to.
In conclusion. These may seem like weak examples, and you can miss the point of this post entirely while arguing with me about my bulletins, but I will say this; understand that while they are a business, insulting the devs of this game does not help anything, and it most certainly isn't building up a connection between Dev and community that might actually help. Devs aren't going to want to be good a community that actively hates them. Just saying.
I call for a Truce, try to see the good in this game, and however corrupt their business practices seem, if you don't get quite enough resources from an event. Be patient and wait for next month.
