Except that isn't true. It was very possible for long time players including F2P to 7* Thrawn without spending money. As a F2P I chose to save my resources and settle for 6*.

Show me one that didn't buy shards from shipments (the equivalent of spending money, especially when you have to spend 300 gems in order to do 3x100 refreshes for hera/ezra) or buy packs when phoenix was released. I also got him at 6*. Nobody cares about a 6* thrawn. At all.

You sound very salty and I really don't know why. There were several posts from F2P that 7* Thrawn with $0 spent, look them up yourself. And had I chosen to 7* Thrawn I wouldn't have needed to purchase a single shard from shipments to do it.
