Activated assist actions

I would like to see activated assist skills (like QGJ and Geo Soldier) allow a pitcher to select the character to assist, much like the JC's Jedi fighter assist attack.

The %chance to assist, like Phasma's lead and Aayla's basic, would continue to function the same.

This would greatly increase the utility of those call to assist moves.
  • This would be a nice change, especially for IG-86. Increasing the priority of assists to call other attackers could also work
  • It sounds great on paper but RNG assists is what makes the game more about tactics. If you run Jroids and JE being called to assist is all part of the risk. Just like QGJ or 5's, Geo Soldier. I hate to play devils advocate but what you are suggesting is an easy way to run assist teams.

Don't get me wrong I'd love if I got to pick who assisted my attacks but that is all part of the game.

I would argue being able to choose the assisting character is more about tactics than RNG. You could choose, say, to use Ayala for her stun, or Yoda to get foresight up before a Masterstroke, based on the situation.

IMHO playing around the RNG is what the tactics of this game is about. For example: you run Jroids and JE is called to assist, your team better be good enough that this setback won't ruin your game. Or you run Wiggs and a dodge happens or it doesn't kill the target. While RNG can be annoying having a good enough team negates RNG (to a certain degree). Having a random ally assist is meant to give you a chance to inflict more damage not guarantee it.

Trust me I hate nothing more than watching those happen but without it everyone would have assist toons on their squad.

chosing assists would be way too OP, just want to say though that there is a big difference between a 25% chance of having JE assist, and the 2% base chance of having an attack dodged.
