What the OP means is that spending time should be rewarded I guess. That would benefit f2p. Why not? But the differnece in drop rate then can't be too big. Otherwise it would penalize those with limited time too much. Maybe a 10% better chance would be reasonable. And if sb wants to fight level 70 toons with his zetas just let him ;)"Human3001;c-1530663" wrote:

If the purpose of fighting a battle is to gain a character shard, then the prize for actually playing and winning should be a guaranty of getting that shard.
If using Sim or Auto, then the chance of winning the character shard should be about 10%.- Another pointless time sink.
I want to play the game where it is challenging and not waste more time just to farm something. I see little point choosing defensive and attacking actions for fights where my toons clearly dominate. And I see me using such weak toons that I possibly won't win the fight when all I want is to farm the shards. The only thing this proposal does is to speed up the farming time for those with little else to do in their lives.
In fact I would prefer even more sims to get rid of tedious tasks like clearing TB waves. Like if you cleared all waves in a phase for several times you can sim them going forward for that phase. "Gunhappy;c-1530686" wrote:

I don't like that idea at all.
What’s the point in playing a game if you don’t actually PLAY the game?
I’d love to be able to use strategy and tactics. Select which of my characters is fighting vs defending at any given time during a battle.
Being rewarded for pushing Sim is ****.
There are raids, arena's, TW and TB that i can play eventhough i sim my LS/DS/cantina battles. I personally still like to play GW every now and then, those battles aren't as repetative as the LS/DS/cantina battles.
i spend around 1200 energy on ls/ds/cantina nodes daily, having to option to sim those is not just a great option, it's one of the reasons i'm still enjoying this game.
edit: So the reason i don't like your suggestion is because i want to continue simming those nodes without having to sacrifice extra rewards by doing so.- I Sim plenty too. Things like the Sith raid where you can waste days trying to get past a foe that is buffed beyond sane.
But, if I have a character that has 46 of 85 shards and I’ve been spending huge amounts of energy to get even 1 shard, it’s frustrating . It makes me wonder why I should even bother actually playing anything in this game.
When there is no return on investment, what’s the use of investing even Sim time? "Gunhappy;c-1530686" wrote:

You are rewarded equally, once you can beat a node with a "perfect score". The sim is an "earned right" from being able to beat something with little effort.
With all the content out there if they tried to implement something like this the hours spent in game would be huge. Mid range players, say level 85, but not having a majority of characters, they would burn out.
The sim is there to give people a choice about where they want to put that time."Gunhappy;c-1530744" wrote:

On other occasions you will get 3 shards in a row. It all evens out to an approximate average drop rate of 30—35% for shards. That makes it quite worthwhile.
With so many other game modes that combined take so much time to play, it's crucial, that we can sim where it makes sense. Without the sim option I wouldn't enjoy the game."Gunhappy;c-1530744" wrote:

The sith raid is like the 1 thing you SHOULDNT be simming(autoing is the correct term btw). You got things backwards. I and a lot of other people already spend like 1.5+hours a day playing this game, sims are there to keep that number from growing dramatically."Kyno;c-1530748" wrote:

Yes, but beating that tier is useless if it only rewards 1 shard ever 20 times you play the tier. I’d gladly give up Sim if I could get the shard I need."Gunhappy;c-1530808" wrote:

But as an advantage to the game, they want you to play more, not more time. People commit X amount of time to the game if they feel that the time needs to be more to progress better they will probably get turned off as people generally commit the time they want to, not the time they "need to", as it should be it's a game.
This change would "force" people to commit more time and then either choose to add more game time or ignore a different aspect of the game. Neither of those would be considered a healthy move for the game.- Past 2 days physically played over 300 energy. Got 1 Talzin shard. What a waste of time.
