Whining about "diversity" already ruined the movies...leave the mobile game alone.
Are you saying that some fans' whining had the power to actually ruin the movies? Or are you really trying to say that Finn being Black, Rose being Asian, and Rey being a woman ruined the movies for you? The diversity wasn't an issue with how the movies turned out, just like it wasn't an issue in the movies themselves. They literally just existed. The movies were bad because the writing was bad. That's it.
To the OPs request, I'd be for it myself. But I can't think of any characters worthy of being a GL that'd fit the bill (unless Ahsoka counts?). Depending on who you ask, that might be a shortcoming of Star Wars. But that's Star Wars. The main leads of the movies are white. As much as I love Lando or some people love Mace (or Boba Fett or Max Rebo or Droopy McCool), don't think they're GL material.

Yeah, thank Christ that Lando wasn't black, because then we would've hated him. And SW was clearly ruined by introducing the first female character in its history...Rey. I didn't say that diversity ruined the movies per se; go back, read it, then read it again. I claimed that people whining about diversity ruined those movies (and ruined a lot more than just the movies, by the way). Huge difference. People like you don't see a problem with KK wearing crap that says "The Force Is Female," but those of us with sense are wondering when gender became a thing with the Force.
Diversity was absolutely an issue with how those garbage fires turned out, no less. Rose being Asian wasn't any kind of problem; however, trying to shoehorn a character into a story where she plays no role and has zero importance other than checking the Asian box on the SJW checklist...yes, that's a problem. Adding garbage to a movie just to check off boxes is going to make the movie garbage. This happens other places, too. (Look at that Untouchables nonsense with Stallone. The foundation wasn't great to begin with, but just piling more and more people onto the credits makes it horrible and unwatchable.) Finn does nothing for three movies but scream "REY!!!" every five minutes, and Rey is just the bestest Jedi ever, completely beyond reproach. No need for a hero's journey for Rey; her hero's journey was just being born, obviously.
Yes, the writing was hot garbage, but let's not act like anyone expected better from Abrams. Of course, you already said that the movies "just existed," but then you cite the subpar writing for the movies' collective failure. Which road are you taking? Do you even know?
Don't even bother with a reply, because you clearly value messaging over good storytelling. You don't care what fans think, because Mickey loves you. Got it. I'm through with ya.

Dude. Chill. You don't know me, so you can pump the brakes on all these assumptions about what I think. And you don't have be rude to everyone who doesn't see things like you do.
I did read what you said, which is why I asked this: "Are you saying that some fans' whining had the power to actually ruin the movies?" OK, you meant it's the whining specifically. I guess I wasn't sure, because that's a take I don't really get: If a movie is good, it's good, right? Whining doesn't change the movie. So how does fans' whining ruin (or do anything to?) a movie?
I'm not sure who "people like [me]" are. Personally, I'm kind of meh on the shirt. I don't think it was meant to be taken literally like you're saying, but it did seem kinda silly to me anyway.

See, this is why I asked the question. I asked, Is it the whining specifically that ruined the movies, or are you really trying to say that diversity ruined them? Then first you told me it's the whining and not the diversity. And now you've just said diversity itself made the movies bad. You can clarify what you mean, but I had a hunch that the diversity is really the problem for you.

Sorry, my bad for the ambiguous antecedent of "they just existed." I was meaning that the actors just existed as Black, Asian, or female, and that their race or gender had nothing to do with the characters or writing.
And that's really my point: I agree with you that Rose, Finn, and Rey weren't well-written characters. But the characters' race and gender wasn't an issue in the movies. The writing and storytelling would have bad no matter who they cast. So why get upset about the diversity of the cast?
Just put the blame on the writing. Putting the blame on the diversity of the cast makes it sound like you just don't like non–white males in your movies.
