An idea

I don’t like the idea of user created cheat discussions threads, primarily because naming and shaming is against the Forum TOS that we all accepted when creating an account. 

Even so, there have been dozens of threads like this before and lax moderation has sometimes seen those threads survive for several days before they are anonymised or deleted - so the idea that these threads would force CG to notice anything is kinda debunked already. 

The main reason I don’t like the idea of these threads, though, is that there have been a large number of false accusations, often made by people who have limited understanding of how the game works (both in terms of battles being client side, so nobody can cheat on defence and just general understanding of kits and synergy). 

We know the devs do ban cheaters, because there have been plenty of “please give me my account back, I’ve learned from my mistakes” threads. Could they be more proactive? Definitely. Could they be more transparent? Probably. Will forumers grabbing their torch and pitchforks help? Almost certainly not. 

DarjeloSalas​ I agree. That’s why I mentioned it might be a bad idea, mostly for the naming part since, like you said, the forum has the rule against it. Actually I’m going to cut that part out of the discussion thread.

The issue is, we have (and never had) any idea on what is going on at CG regarding cheaters.  My hunch is that checking is such a seldom thing, they don't want to be more transparent.  I don't think they need to let us know about the results.  However, they should acknowledge reports and let us know they'll look into it.

That said, I think a lot of the claims are false.  I've been playing since the end of 2017, and to the best of my knowledge, I've never encountered a cheater.  Watching streams and content creators, I've only seen 1.  I think though, issues of cheating in Ship Arena are more common than my experience.  In GAC, I don't think it's common at all.

There is a 'cheaters' discord channel, that looks into possible cheating.  I believe, it is very good and pretty accurate.  Probably, that's a better place to go than here for this sort of thing.

I'm pretty sure you can't cheat on defence.  So, if they're cheating on offence, they're an easy snack on defence.  That said, I have no idea about attempts with cheaters.  It maybe a case of just clicking a button and putting you back down.
