An open letter to them

Hi develops and CG_SBCrumb,

this is an open letter on several things that have been on my mind. Some are good , some are bad, some are mixed. I start this with the premise that this is a limited resource game that we can all agree

So here we go:

1- Say what you do, do what you say - Character release cadence - you come out with grandiose plans and statements and cadences, then never hit one - This is embarrassing in the days of calendar, google calendar, ..... Does anyone in the studio own a calendar and a master plan? Can you hit a release cadence on a character per previous commitments?

2- Sith Raid - Great addition. Awesome challenge and requiring a guild to team up.

3- Sith Raid Reward Nerf - So those that are blessed to have a stronger guild get even stronger with better early rewards and stronger and those that work towards it don't get as good as of rewards, How is that fair and equitable?

4- Quests - Did the team really look at this ? The rewards for the effort is horrible. Phase two of the Jedi quest require me to win 10 arena battles with Jedi? This may work for a beginning arena shard, but how does this work against 200+ speed Siths, traya, NS, ....... Did the balance team fall asleep here? I would have to give up so many arena position to even try , that I might as well just hit quit. Please tell me a 5 Jedi comp that beats a EP(L), Sion, Traya, SiT, Thrawn?

5- Ships 2.0 - Swing and a miss - 1st you release in the middle of the US climbs to 1, with no information. We are expected to try and climb to 1? Then you had guilds on Beta that low and behold have the top position after 24 hours as they had early intelligence and shared it across their guild - How is that even remotely fair ? Maybe put all the beta tester on a single shard and let then rest of us have a level playing field? This was supposed to save time you say. My battles have went from 90 seconds to 3+ minutes as I have to look at everything that happens as there was no ability to be strategic with this release due to NO INFORMATION. There is no chance to recover from a single mistake. YOU took the Most RNG dependent area of the game and made it more RNG. What will ships do in TW when you lose and they have 5 deployed? No comment from the developers. No new ships, nerfing the most difficult ship to get (Tie reaper) . Overall, a very bad, bad roll-out

6- TB rewards - Roll this release out, go on holiday and many have no news or rewards, me included. not a good move and slap in our face.

7 - Chat - Seems like a positive move - still using and learning

8- Arena Payout - Can we have a way to move our payouts? I have to play while driving to climb to top 5 - I have called and I cant change. Given this is my option, I either need to delay commute or play while driving.

9- New characters - Doing a nice job to bring some fresh faces to the universe, but see point 1.

10 - MODs management- Can we get some tools? This has been an open request for over a year- Sets, search, .....

    Firstly, lets all be on the same page. 1 they said approximately for the 2 stages of the release.
    now despite that, there are 2 toons, that missed. I know, becuase i was bugging them for a week to try and get them out. but in both cases they were both moved to Shipments a week late and the second move was on time for the 4-6 weeks.

    but through a deft use of the english language they did do what they said.

    more developed players (spend either more time or $$ to get there) = better rewards
    less developed players (spend less time and/or money) = good (but not quite as good) reawards

    yes that is 100% fair.

    I also see you are hinting at the fact that you seem to think that people undeserving of their guild are getting shards. in the current state of the game, I can almost guarantee that there is no guild carrying someone who doesn't bring something to the table. Yes they may no be the strongest in the Sith raid, but they bring something to the table that is helping the guild and thats what a guild is all about.

    you do realize that quests are not things they expected you to do "now" right. some of them are long hail and as such are called prestigious quests. because they are earned and are not just handed out.

    you could also look at this as a hint of the future to come....but that is probably just wishful thinking on my part.

    we knew it was coming. they released it when they are in the office, this is a smart move so they can support it. this is a long term game and game mode, a day, even a week is not a big deal. also many players are still using ships from the original lineup so there was no much brain power used to get to where we are right now.

    ships and most content is changed after beta before it is released.

    There was no information when ships was released the first time, so this is not really a change from the initial rollout.

    I disagree, i have had much more recoverability from ship battles. if they have 5 ships out, they will still have 5 ships out in the next attack, why/how would that have changed?

    yes they changed ships to rebalance for the new setup.

    they stated that this TZ change is the first step and they are looking into the implications of this effecting everything. so maybe, but i wouldn't hold my breath. on the brighter side, this will be the same for everyone else.

    as they stated in an interview they never intended mods to be moved like they are now. the cost was meant to be prohibitive. we utilize them differently than they intended. this is likely why they were hesitant to implement anything involving mod management, they wanted data to reconcile what they intended and our actual use.

    they also said this is not always a simple task because they have to make it all work on the screen and everytime someone proposes an idea the first question is "what will that look like". we can't always say "we should have this" as things are not as simple as they seem sometimes when you consider the game as a whole.

  • That stuffs all well and good but please when will they add a training room feature to the game, that is more helpful than anything aside from chat, it need not have reward and won't interfere with arena so why the refusal? We your paying customers request this. It helps us to try different configurations, please deliver what "we" are asking for, not your spin on what you think we should have, that you like, thanks for reading this.
