Are Defense Mods Useful?

Like the title mentioned, are defense mods/ defense primaries useful? Or in other words... is it worth using a defense primary over a protection primary? I've never really seen defense mods being put to use

I have tons of defense primary cross mods which I really don't need, so I'm debating whether or not to just sell them off or keeping them (they also have secondary stats that I don't need either).

Complete the defense mod challenge to get 5* mods often in your shipments, then never go to that section again.

Completing mod challenges increases the chances of 5*?
if this is the case, I should probably work on the tenacity mods too

No, only defense mods will do that. The other mod challenges don't give away that benefit.

Interesting, I know I completed those two challenges fairly early on, so maybe I didn't see or notice the bonus. Thanks for letting me know.

If they have all your best speed secondaries, then yes. But as a set, it's useless.
