Are Discussion Posts moderated before showing up?

Hi all!

I'm new and tried to make a post, but I'm not sure if I successfully made my post. I can't find it pending anywhere, and I don't want to double post. Do posts all go to moderators before showing up? Thanks for helping show me the ropes!
