Are Mk VI Besh Ability Module pieces now capped?

Earlier today, I had 10,365 of these pieces to upgrade Era characters. Today I unlocked 5 star Rotta and earned another 3,250 pieces. BUT now I have only 10,000 pieces.

Did CG just incorporate a cap limit on these pieces? Was there a communication I missed?  Did they do it on other pieces? Or am I doing something wrong. (seems a little strange to have an exact # tho...)
