Datacrons are only available in PVP. Taking them out of PVP takes them out of the game entirely and we're back to the stale old days when the meta was only changed by adding new characters. Just imagine how frustrated you would be then, if the only way to counter new stuff was to have even newer stuff. Did you like it when Malak was the top of the meta and wasn't reliably beatable until GAS was released? And let's not forget the wailing and gnashing of teeth over GAS's unlock event.
