It's interesting how people are calling this a panic farm. I've been telling people to farm First Order and Resistance for 6 months now. Not because I knew a BB-8 event was coming, but because there's a movie to be released in December. They are bound to release a new character (like Snoke or Hux or General Organa) that makes the team even more awesome, or require these characters in some fashion.
For future farming, pick something that interests you, work towards it, and you'll be ready ahead of everyone:
Nightsisters will be getting a rework at some point.
GG also has been confirmed to be getting a rework (Will GG and BB-8 make droids great again?)
Ewoks will be used for not only Wicket shards, but other rewards from that Heroic event.
There's more to come from the movie for First Order and Resistance.
Ships may get a raid leading to ship mods.
I'd be surprised if Geonosians or Tuskens weren't used for a DS TB at some point, similar to how Hoth Soldier and Hoth Scout are now.
Yes, I know, I basically told you to farm everything. But pick one thing you like or feel has good potential, and farm it. I chose First Order because the movie was coming, and now it paid off.
If you'd rather try to be ready for everything, farm all the factions to 5*. When I'm done with 7* Captain Han, I'll be back to getting Nighsister Initiate to 5*. I got the Nightsister from GW to 5* today. Working on Lobot and Urororour in hard nodes atm....
