New Update is nothing but Greed!

I'm thinking the same thing as you friend. I'm shocked at how bold faced this cash grab is. All the rewards for using Huyang are locked behind shard requirements. I thought Conquest challenges being gated by the new content was annoying, but this is another level. I get they need to keep the lights on somehow, but this is quite a lot to take in.

They claimed that this was intended for the F2P players, so I'm playing it out as a F2P. I've done everything I can so far, and after just a couple days, I'm already behind on rewards from where I should have been. The feeling I have trying to play catch up before the end is discouraging. It just feels like it's harder to earn rewards, especially seeing the feats 'win with an active Episode Pass' and 'win with a 7 stars Huyang'. Those are two feats I won't be completing.

It goes back to what most of us have been feeling all along, we can't play this game the way we want to. It has to played the way CG releases characters. Don't get me wrong, in time I'll unlock Ahsoka.. but certainly not on day 1.

If cutting our rewards back even further is CG's idea of more player engagement, they're going to be disappointed in the results. The community is getting tired of these tactics. I have no idea how they ever considered this new update as intended for F2P players. Without spending, we're losing out on rewards we were already getting for free. If you keep moving the goalposts, eventually the players walk off the field...

BTW, off topic; Where's the Jar Jar event? Fix the fleet meta! And delete Datacrons!

I think I know why they delayed Jar Jar.

I am pretty sure that the next Gungan GC will still have the full Gungan team feats.

So they will delay the Jar Jar event to just before the GC so more players will have it and they can claim that the F2P who can't do the feat have only to blame themselves. This way anyone pointing that this update was supposed to allow F2P player to reach level 50 in Episode is false can be blamed for poor planning. It will completely ignore the fact that it will force F2P players to go after every character in less than 6 months, but it is CG for you.

I rarely come to the forums. But this is so scummy and greedy it's important to let them know just how much they've effed up. It's appalling. People keep saying you will get the same rewards as you did with crates... Not sure about that. Deffo not f2p. First give us the crates back, and second get rid of these greed filled feats that most won't engage with. 

Haha—YES—I never participate in group discussions, forums, communities, etc. But THIS update got me on here. I created an account, a thread with a poll, and I’m engaging like crazy so EA knows they’ve messed up. When you get an introvert to get involved and speak up against something, it should be an indication you’ve messed up. 

It's actually abhorrent that the normal conquest pass was not mentioned to be included in the episode passes. There's no way I'm spending $30/month on just passes. And, are max rewards on the free track even obtainable with the way they've gated quests / GC's now behind the paywall?

you wont even be getting the same rewards as crates cause crates would be given about every 3 days now you get less rewards over a period of basically a month meaning you basically cutting any rewards by over 10x

Maybe this is a plot to revitalize the forums?

Also in a similar boat to you, made an account here to comment after this update and I've been playing since a few months after the game came out of beta.

I personally really like the new Episode system and the replacement to Galactic Challenges is great with this new system giving more roster specific rewards through the Shipments. The new character specific quests are obviously for those that want to chase the new toons day 1 but they're in no way required for progress and the rewards out of them aren't really that great anyway. The new feats in GC are only to speed up your progress on the Episode Track and don't really mean anything, I don't get all the feats anyway but still finish the free track. For those willing to spend, the $20 episode pass is great value with a ton of very valuable materials included plus extra shipment currency. If you're also buying conquest pass, an extra $10 isn't anything crazy but if you don't want to spend that then you can just wait 6 months for a conquest character instead of 3, not the end of the world there either, the $30 conquest pass is really only if you need to catch up on all the previous characters with the bonus PG. Overall, I think this is a great update both for people that don't mind spending a little bit and for those that are F2P and it allows for some extra revenue for the game which is always good as it will keep it alive for longer.
