I am farming him just for the GP, assuming I get FOST to 5* in time...and assuming bb8 is farmable at 5*. I don't have FOST because everytime I go to farm him something more important would come up like farming Phoenix for Thrawn etc...
Truth to be told I think the concept of BB8 as legendary is puckey...sad sad day for EA/CG when they have true legendary toons like C3PO who isn't even in the game yet and they choose to use a droid that has been minimally useful and a minor part of the storyline. That alone made me tempted to not farm him but if I can bite the bullet and do the events that gave me shards for the more ridiculous geriatric han and chewie then I can add bb8 to the team too. I don't like to be negative but this was perhaps the lamest concept ever by EA/CG. This is three releases in a row that rate in the top of the "Lamest Updates List". Yah he might prove useful but lets be honest...creating him as a legendary character is supremely uninspiring.

Considering how difficult it is to farm even one good mod, farming an entire faction just to unlock not very good mods is a terrible inefficient strategy. I have T1 offense mods unlocked and it isn't worth more investment when I am still missing many TB toons and not finished with Phoenix

Not true. He's a hidden gem. I had him on my arena team scoring in top 3 for quite some time, NOT on a First Order team. Rex, FOST, GK, Thrawn and Nihilus, I believe, and I think for a while with CLS instead of Nihilus. Need the zeta for arena viable, but he's quite nice.

FOST and GK trading off taunts keeps the whole team alive. Thrawn healing whoever needs the protection. His basic is a dispel and he provides Defense Up to the whole team (himself and GK included) putting his and GK's defense at around 50% (should be close to 60% now with the gear 12 bump they both have).

And the assists from his basic is pretty amazing.

Offence mods......how many characters actually have the recommended mods as offence?

Offence is way doen the list, especially with more and more toons that hit like a brick without them.

I maxed out the mod challenges as soon as I could while keeping up on other goals. I'd rather have the ability to farm them all and choose not to than to want it and not be able to.

Never thought I'd need potency mods, either, then I started building my resistance team more....

It's interesting how people are calling this a panic farm. I've been telling people to farm First Order and Resistance for 6 months now. Not because I knew a BB-8 event was coming, but because there's a movie to be released in December. They are bound to release a new character (like Snoke or Hux or General Organa) that makes the team even more awesome, or require these characters in some fashion.

For future farming, pick something that interests you, work towards it, and you'll be ready ahead of everyone:

Nightsisters will be getting a rework at some point.
GG also has been confirmed to be getting a rework (Will GG and BB-8 make droids great again?)
Ewoks will be used for not only Wicket shards, but other rewards from that Heroic event.
There's more to come from the movie for First Order and Resistance.
Ships may get a raid leading to ship mods.
I'd be surprised if Geonosians or Tuskens weren't used for a DS TB at some point, similar to how Hoth Soldier and Hoth Scout are now.

Yes, I know, I basically told you to farm everything. But pick one thing you like or feel has good potential, and farm it. I chose First Order because the movie was coming, and now it paid off.

If you'd rather try to be ready for everything, farm all the factions to 5*. When I'm done with 7* Captain Han, I'll be back to getting Nighsister Initiate to 5*. I got the Nightsister from GW to 5* today. Working on Lobot and Urororour in hard nodes atm....

BB-8 will unlock at 5* like the other legendary event toons. If you already have the rest of the FO squad then you can at least get him at 6*.

That's exactly the point, everybody farmed things that were obviously useful, of which there were many, instead of things that may or may not ever be needed. At the rate new Op toons are coming out you can't even come close to having everything so better to go for the stuff that you already know is needed.

Well I might be one of those people lol, looking ahead it was evident Res and FO would be the dev's main focus with TLJ coming up. I already had all FO at 7* when BB8 was announced so I can't complain myself
