Ha, you made it a little further than I did; I'm just under 9,000.
By "refreshing the quests," they mean they are getting rid of it. It's possible they'll replace it with some easy thing that you may have already done and put the rewards there--this is what they did with the Prestigious Quests (I was almost done with those; just one left and it wouldn't have taken me more than a month). However, I don't recall that they replaced Beast Master III or whatever it was for Challenge Rancor with anything, though I could be mistaken.
