Can someone please explain/clarify K2's zeta?

Not recovery, this will increase the max protection he could have if you have a toon that grants protection regeneration.

You really need to read cassian abilities.
Cassian doesn't give buffs beyond start of battle when K2 already has full protection. Cassian is the only R1 rebel that doesn't give buffs beyond the start of battle. So cassian will do nothing for K2 protection regeneration besides calling him for an assist.

Jyn lead helps both cassian and k2
Cassian benefits from being able to stack multiple exposes
K2 benefits from protection recovery.

Chirrut will keep healing them and giving out hots for protection recovery.
Baze for protecting chirrut and the whole team at the start.

A full R1 team can do well.
