Yes, there was. The compensation loot sent out this week contained 25k Episode Points. More than enough to make up for the 16k that this quest will cause you to miss. Pay attention to what's in your inbox messages, OP.
It still leaves a bad taste in my mouth that this oversight was allowed to happen. The rewards are fantastic, don't get me wrong - but we shouldn't need to be compensated in the first place, no?

i read that compensation loot sent to us because of lags in game when the update ruined the game for almost everyone. it has nothing to do with the impossible task in the last category of the era. You are mistaking wishful thinking for reality.
32K. I could not complete the first Era Challenge quest either.
