Very likely. S3 is completely down. Not sure if the game uses anything from S3 though... maybe the update files are stored there.

Kind of hard to blame devs for things when their third-party servers have issues, but I'm sure you can find a way? My guess is they've already expressed their displeasure with Amazon and have moved on to discussing whether there is anything at all they can do to help get things moving again.
