STOP auto filling slots

I can - Assault Battles.

If I had to manually put in the Peridea Pals, I’d be annoyed.

If my CLS team wasn’t autofilled for Military Might, I’d be even more annoyed.

I say this kindly - pay more attention to the ships/characters you choose. Autofill is quite often more useful than no autofill.

Can you not sim those assault battles?

I’m with OP. Autofill is more often an inconvenience than any form of help. 

Darjelo, you need to complete the tiers before you can sim them.

Autofill requires clicking once each to get them out.

No autofill requires hunting through your characters, including the use of applying filters and then scrolling through those filters, then selecting them. 

Autofill is much less trouble.

I don’t see it myself. But then I haven’t loaded a team for an Assault Battle for years. 

I have, however, had to deselect characters from undermanned raid teams dozens and dozens of times. That is much more trouble than it needs to be. 

But don't you have to do that anyway with autofill? Except first you have to clear out the team of complete randos that only represent your highest characters.

Only if the team isn't preloaded, and preloaded teams are helpful in the same battle string such as, as I said, Assault Battles

I can hardly believe that OutrunWhistle hasn't completed the assault battles yet, and in the highest tiers, autofill is completely useless there too.

It just happened to me again in RotE: I clicked too fast during fleet selection and ended up going in with Profundity and a completely useless fleet. Fleet selection in particular is unnecessarily complicated. You select the capital ship and think you’ve got the whole fleet… but no… Especially when you haven’t had enough coffee in the morning.

Get rid of Autofill or at least make it optional. It’s annoying and useless.

I’m also struggling to understand OW’s point here. 

An Assault Battle (or Era Battle or whatever the newer variants are called) will already have filtered your characters to show only those that are usable, so using filters could be considered unnecessary. 

The autofill feature will also pick your 5 highest GP eligible characters, which may or may not be the actual team you want to use in that battle. I remember Smuggler’s Run 2, before we were able to sim it, would always have Han and Chewy in my autofill lineup that I had to manually change every time. 

But those issues aside, picking teams for an Assault battle is something you’ll do once, or at worst a handful of times. Deselecting autofilled characters is something I’m doing repeatedly every single time our guild launches the O66 raid. All 5 squads I use are undermanned and if I retreat and retry I have to deselect autofilled characters every single time. 

Maybe there’s a compromise here. I’d be far happier if the game did not autofill empty slots when you had already attempted the battle with empty slots? Hitting the confirm button 14 times this morning after the 3 man clone team didn’t get the desired opening RNG got boring pretty fast. 

Let me give some examples

1. Let’s say I’ve just completed tier 1 of Military Might using CLS, an optimal team. For each subsequent tier, I’d want to keep using CLS. Autofill does that for me, because autofill saves the team for the last battle string (light side, dark side, cantina, etc)
2.  If I wanted to switch out maybe one or two characters, I don’t need to put the whole team in again.
3. Even if the filter is preset, you’d still have to scroll for the toons. The only time autofill (highest GP) would be a problem is if the team isn’t already preloaded 
4. I replay the ABs manually for something to do
