Conquest Change - intentional?

What really sticks in my craw if this was intentional is that the difficulty level renders many of my characters irrelevant, ones i have spent money on. I am not a whale by any means but do spend money in this game, probably about 100 to 150 a year in addition to buying the battle pass for conquests. I don't enjoy seeing that money flushed down the drain as they make characters i invested in irrelevant, particularly GL's and journey chars. I expect that all the GL's should be able to beat the mini bosses in hard mode. If they can't why even have a feat for beating the mini boss without a GL?

What's the point in farming GL's and investing in them if they can't compete in the hardest modes of the game? absolute put off.
