Current link/connection potions between android and apple products 2021?

So Ive read quite a few topics here, and they are all 3 to 5 years old regarding this.
Now, I got a apple Ipad Ive played on for a year, and I just got a android phone I want to connect my account on SWGOH. but apparently; connecting through facebook is not possible from the ipad, (according to former topics on this forum). Link a device is apparently not an option on the android phone, cause pressing that option just leaves "connect to facebook" which isnt possible for no good reason, so.... how is it done?

    I've never done it, but on my android when you choose "connect" in the settings, there's a "link device" option which let's you choose whether it's the new or old device. You don't have that option or that's what leads you to Facebook connect? I've not gone further than that step since both my accounts are tied to Google play accounts on the same device

    on my phone I get the options to: "sign into google play" or "link a device", when I press "link a device" it tells me to choose a service, and only facebook is showing.
    I have tried the "sign into google play" aswell, but that is not an option on the ipad.

    the problem is that the game wont let my ipad connect my account to facebook. When I try to login it just resets the facebook login page and tells me to login again.

    I dont think you get it, I cant login to facebook through the game at all, it wont let me. Ive never reached those steppes on the "new device" guide youve linked. Otherwise you would be right and I would have done it already.
    This seems to be an old bug, cause as I wrote in the first message, (according to former topics on this forum), they reffer to problems connecting to facebook through the game aswell, just in slightly different ways than my issue.

    You have to link/login to Facebook on old device (iPad) first other wise new device steps do nothing

    Also if you are not using your real Facebook account for the Facebook linking you must delete your real Facebook account from devices main account settings or the game will try to use that.
