Getting rewards for 51+ and roster refresh are NOT the same as playing a legitimate alt account and accruing coins. If players took advantage of 51+ raid rewards and took advantages of roster refreshes, they exploited a break in the game structure itself. That is the difference.
Nobody could get bonus rewards from this 51+ thing..... That was made impossible with last update. All these new rules do is make it impossible for guilds to help each other. The roster refresh is a completely different issue.
The "legitimate" alt account thing is such a joke.... YEs, it is so "legitimate" that I will funnel all benefits into the real account b/c that is totally what a "legitimate" account would do. Pay no attention to the fact that the "legitimate" thing here gets you double the rewards that actually legitimate players could collect under the rules. On the other hand, the things you complain of here get you exactly the same rewards the rules allow. (ERO advantage or DOUBLE advantage which is worse? hmmmmm
Dude. Did you even read what was Happening?!? Guilds were getting rewards beyond the 50. Meaning, if they had 80 people attack the AAT and then purposefully kicked them from the raid, they were still getting rewards. Additionally, if they were kicked, joined a guild and kicked and came back, their roster was refreshed. Those are exploits pure and simple. No arguing this.
Alternate accounts are not an exploit.
alt accounts not. But the use of alt account and alt guilds with the intention to benefit the main accounts definitely is. The use of alt accounts to give the main account chance to raid more than allowed by the system, which gives those main accounts a extreme advantage over legit players, it's an exploit. There's a reason on the limits the devs put on the guild coins and raid at the time: to limit of many times a guild can raid in a certain period of time.
If that wasn't an exploit, then let's get the devs to remove the limits then. Let's allow the guilds to raid rancor 6 times a week.
Well said, the use of an alt account to benefit the main account definitely sounds like an exploit to me.
Don't believe using an alt in WoW to craft materials faster for your main is an exploit. Many, many games have the ability to use alts to the mains advantage- its not actually taking advantage of a true coding flaw in the system. Anyone complaining here, doesn't understand how the current exploits work for AAT. Anyone keeping quiet, who would normally be complaining, is trying to figure out how to save their hide right now, and selling out their guildmates who willingly exploited.
Wow has a trade system in place to allow & encourage that sort of behavior. Alt farming in this game was used to circumvent a system put in place specifically to stop accounts from getting more than their fair share of raids a week.
Lots of Alts still generated some amount of revenue, there's no way they are going to discourage opportunies for download hits and spending.
From what it sounds like the exploit allowed for people to refresh their rosters and make multiple hits on the same raid, making it possible for guilds who should not be able to complete the heroic raid possible. That sounds like a clear and cut case of something to be stopped.
And it's ok to have alts. Many f2p started alts which urged into a low/mid spending account.
But the devs put limits on how many times you can rancor raid in a period of time. It doesn't matter how you try to justify an exploit.
The way people used the alts to give their main account past the limits the devs put in the game is what's wrong. The way they did give their main account a big advantage over legitimate players is what's wrong. Again, if not an exploit, then the devs would have just removed the limitations on how many times you can raid.
It's great that the devs took a quick response with exploits this time. It's a shame that they never fixed guild hopping for months mostly because their integrity doesn't allow them to ban big spenders. Disappointed at the double standard there.
You can argue all you want about the difference between the two exploits, that this time the roster refreshed and people got rewards they shouldn't receive. But the similar could be say about in the past, that guild raided 6 times a week when that wasn't the intention of the devs in the first place.
But some people will always tergiverse terms and words to justify their agenda and their actions.
Ban both aat and rancor guild hoppers, remove shore trooper obtained by exploit!!!
Yeah sure, like that's gonna happen... We both know only the exploit where the devs fave guild didn't participate will be punished. But I bet that history would be different if the pet guild also cheated on aat tank.
